It sounds like an awful lot of adjustment for all of you in a short amount of time, and that can make you feel "buried under it" really quickly. I have read your blog for a few years but have never commented until today. My head is in the exact same space; we have so much in common- particularly the bit about not being able to work more because of mental health issues, etc. In my case though it's a daughter with ADHD, my own issues with depression & anxiety, and a husband who left me last fall in the most Jerry Springer way I can imagine. So, thank you for this post- we all do the best we can with what we have at the time. You are an amazing writer and an amazing mum :) Laundry- what a great analogy. My piles of unfinished stuff are probably different than yours, but the feeling of being buried is the same. The feeling of I-will-never-win-against-this, being overwhelmed and almost paralyzed by it. I get that. Good luck with the transition. Ends are hard but new beginnings are good.
