I am going away for the weekend + 2. Last weekend was OUR holiday weekend, but I got a last minute inviation to go to a friend’s cabin in the Rocky Mountains and couldn’t say no. My friend Klara’s family has a cabin they share in Jasper, Alberta, and her and I and our babies (she has a lovely little boy) are going there until Tuesday evening.
I will take photos and perhaps even the laptop! But to keep you interested while I am gone. My great great uncle (on my mom’s side) was the tallest man in Canada. Seriously. Check this out:

I kinda’ asked some similar ones to everyone, but get over it. I’m a happenin’ babe.
It was a long weekend here, as I have mentioned. It is extra long because Mark took tomorrow off as well. I have done a bit of yard work. My mom did so much good cleaning and weeding of my flowerbeds, I am mostly planting. The jihad that Mark and I declared on the dandelions isn’t going so well. I also hate the motherfucking quack grass, but that is also winning. Just look at the flowers when you come over and ignore the weeds, ok?
Mark and I took Charlotte to my parents “hobby” farm on Sunday. It was her first road trip. Mom and dad’s farm is about an hour northwest of the city near the bustling town (is it even a town) of Busby. When we got to the farm, my parents were putting in their garden with my two nieces. We distracted them with some bad croquet playing, where my older niece totally cheated! So, of course, I had to cheat back. We all then went for a walk to the neighbour

1. Overall, is being a mom FUN or is it TOO MUCH WORK? And if you could afford a Nanny or an Au Pair, would you hire one?
It isn’t all FUN, or nothing BUT FUN, but it is FUN. If I was loaded (with money, not tequila), I would totally hire a nanny. I would pick and chose when I would use said nanny. I love spending time with the babe. I like changing diapers, putting her to sleep, feeding her, everything. It would be nice to have 2-3 hours a day to myself though or time with the Mark.

I taped the Sopranos and just watched it now, so forgive the late rant. But between “Apple” Fucking Paltrow Martin and an all dream sequence episode. Whatthefuck? And ohmygod, I just read that Geena Davis named her new twins Kian and Kiass. For the love of fuck.
But, alas, I love Bryan Adams. I know I have said it before, but he was a big help to me today, so go give him some love.
Benoit, the attentive kitty, was always this way. He was a stray before we saved him from an ashy death at the now no-kill shelter here. He is clingy and needs to be with me at all times. We had to get him a little friend, the aloof Cleo, so he would stop weeping every time I left for work. Even know, he hates a closed door, regardless of who is behind it. Funny kitty. Yes, I know, a whole paragraph on my cat. I am a female with a blog people, EXPECT the cat entries! No photo today though.

actually, the cutest thing is that Benoit, our orangey kitty follows me everywhere. so if i am not sleeping, HE is not sleeping. he jumps from the bed and follows me from the seconf floor to the basement wherein lies my computer. he then pesters me, gives up and sits on the ironing board waiting til we go back to bed. occasionally he gives out a plantive i-am-tired-MIAOW.
