Rock out with your Rooster out

Filed under: Uncategorized — jennifer @ 1:46 pm

Mark and I bought my brother and his family Rock Star for the Wii yesterday. I can honestly say it was one of the most fun family get togethers we have ever had. Who knew my sister in law could play the drums, or Mark could sing?? Or Charlotte could sing something totally different than Mississippi Queen for three minutes. We took video with Mark’s new Flip Video (Father’s Day). But I have no idea how to edit it or upload it yet and I think Mark might kill me for taping him singing Bon Jovi’s “Wanted: Dead or Alive”. Even though, he is a cowboy and on a steel horse he does ride.
I called my brother today to make sure he still loved me after I made his house a gigantic house party of noise and chaos, but he was all excited, so yay! Mark ran off to the store yesterday morning, and came home with it, so I was surprised too. We did get a first day release gift and kept that. Check out my fabulous hat and yes I know my tongue looks like a weird colour, but I cannot account for Photo Booth and coffee for its effects on my tongue hue.

Those crazy kids

All kid are quirky, they do wacky things. Parents love to share their stories, people like to pretend to tolerate them.
Tolerate this:
Char's choice of hat today
That is my kid in a fez on the way to school today. Officially it is Mark’s fez I guess, so you can laugh at him as well.

Mark comes back from Vegas tonight, well, tonight, being like 1AM. I hope he won enough to get me an iPhone, which are coming to Canada in July. Even though the contract on my current Jussasic Era cell phone had more than 2 years left on it. *sob*
On Saturday, we had Kim (of Kim.Mama on Flickr) and Ella over for pizza dinner in our house of disarray, and Ella would not let me eat her dimples. They are both fabulous ladies. We will hang together again!

I have been watching PLANET EARTH! on Mark’s giant laptop in bed every night. These had been the days of our lives. I do not know how people entertain their kids and do it without a partner. Charlotte really missed her daaaaaaaaaadeeeeeeeee one night. Ugh.
House still up for sale. Ugh. Again.
These are the days of our lives.

hand burned, but decorative

Filed under: Uncategorized — jennifer @ 2:28 pm

Last night I was heating up my leftover chili from Wendy’s (shut up, i like it). I retrieved it from the microwave which, in our new place, is HIGH above the stove. I went to grab it, with a tea towel in case it was hot, and it spilled all over my left hand. It burned! I ran it under cold water, applied ice under a towel, it hurt. Mark was working overtime and eventually brought e home some gauze, but forgot tape, so I used whatever we could find to adhere the bandage to my hand.
Behold:
i burned my hand
Mark is leaving tonight for round one of the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas and I am in charge of Charlotte for 6 days. Good thing my parents live close by. I am a danger to myself.

    slowly but surely

Filed under: Uncategorized — jennifer @ 12:12 pm

We are moving in an unpacking, but slowly. Mark is working an assload of overtime and I am now sick. Allergies/asthma turned into nasty cold.
Also, our lawn hasn’t been mowed to is looks like hobos live here.
AND, we sold our house, a little less than asking. More than double what we paid in 1999. The market is slowing down though. It is bittersweet.
Don’t forget to go check out We Covet, where I and other lovely ladies show you items that we love.
    .
I also have some things to say about my failure post. Seeing therapist helps me AND you! soon.
    love,
